Our new website — same laundromat, much faster
A short note about the rebuilt foundsocklaundromat.com — what changed, why it loads almost instantly on your phone, and what's coming next.
If you’re reading this on a phone — and most of you are — you probably noticed this page loaded almost instantly. That wasn’t an accident.
We rebuilt the entire site from scratch this month. The homepage now loads in well under a second on a regular 4G phone and scores in the top range on Google’s PageSpeed test. The whole page weighs about as much as a single social media photo.
Why does that matter? Two reasons. First, you don’t waste data when you’re checking our hours from the bus. Second, Google generally rewards fast, well-built sites, which means more Brighton, Allston, and Brookline neighbors should find us when they’re searching for a laundromat nearby.
A few other things we changed:
- The site now shows whether we’re open right now, automatically.
- Every detail about our pricing, the loyalty card, and the FasCard app is one tap away.
- A new blog with practical guides — how to wash a comforter, what to bring on your first visit, how to remove tough stains, and more.
That’s it. Same friendly neighborhood spot, just on a much better website.
